This recipe is simple, really quick to prepare, and ideal for those times when you want something delicious but you don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking.

Ground meat recipes are super easy and affordable, but can get a bit boring. This recipe gives ground lamb a kick in the right direction.

I adapted my Mediterranean meatball recipe to create this simpler and arguably even more flavourful lamb dish, and the result is really great. I love how pronounced the flavour of the spices are and the richness achieved from cooking the lamb down with the onion.

Serve with garlic roasted cauliflower for a deconstructed mediterranian shepherd’s pie.

Nutritional Highlights

Lamb – excellent source of B vitamins & rich in minerals such as iron, phosphorus, selenium and zinc
Also a complete protein – great addition to the meal rotation

Warming herbs and spices – helps digestion and makes eating healthy super delicious

Onion – great flavours and tons of health benefits.

Ingredients:
1 lb of minced lamb
2 cloves minced garlic (pressed or zested works too!)
1 small onion, finely chopped
1tsp sea salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ tsp gr cumin
¹/² tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp Onion powder
¼ tsp Ground cinnamon
¼ tsp cayenne powder
¼ tsp chilli flakes (adjust to your level of preferred spiciness)
1tbsp coconut oil, for frying

Directions:
Chop 1 onion and set aside.
Crush 2-3 garlic cloves.
Combine spices in a bowl. Set aside.
Heat pan with approx. 1 tbsp. of oil. I don’t really measure, I know I want enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan and it’s able to liberally coat the onion.
Add onion and garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Adding garlic and onion at the same time prevents garlic from burning and I finds it helps to bring both of the flavours out nicely.
Add ground lamb and stir frequently, browning it off a bit, and then add seasoning mix. Cook until the ground lamb is thoroughly cooked throughout.
Taste and add salt if needed and a crack of two of fresh pepper.
Serve!

Note: Adding some chopped fresh mint and parsley takes the flavour profile of this dish to the next level. Try it, I promise you won’t regret it!

So there we have it: super easy to execute and mega delicious. This dish pairs well with cauliflower rice or roasted cauliflower. Either one is completely delicious, and on your table fast.

I hope you all enjoy this recipe! See you again soon xo
